Di Matteo nominated for FIFA world coach of the year award

Roberto Di Matteo did a fantastic job when he took over last season, it's good to see that he's being recognized for it.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is a finalist for FIFA's world coach of the year. Ten finalists have been nominated, and they are as follows:

Vicente del Bosque (Spain), Roberto Di Matteo (Chelsea), Alex Ferguson (Manchester United ), Pep Guardiola (Barcelona), Jupp Heynckes (Bayern Munich), Jürgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund), Joachim Löw (Germany), Roberto Mancini (Manchester City), José Mourinho (Real Madrid), Cesare Prandelli (Italy).

Looking at what that group accomplished as a whole, it's hard to see anyone there with a legitimately better argument that Di Matteo. The award will probably go to Vincente del Bosque, as both UEFA and FIFA tend to vastly overrate international performances as opposed to those at club level. Even with that being said, it's hard to picture Roberto not getting a fiar amount of support for the award.

Congratulations on your nomination Roberto, you are certainly a deserving candidate. Hopefully this will be the first of many lists of this nature that you're included on.
