Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Chelsea, UEFA Champions League: Lineups & Game Thread

Chelsea head to Ukraine with a crucial three points on the line.

Michael Steele

Chelsea play one of the tougher fixtures they'll see during the group stage today as they head to the Ukraine to face Shakhtar Donetsk. A result in this game would be huge, as the Ukrainian champions are closing in on a year since the last time they lost a game. They're one of the most underrated teams in the Champions League, and overlooking them would be a serious mistake.

The other game in the group today features our last opponents, FC Nordsjaelland hosting Serie A champion Juventus. Where Chelsea can probably afford a draw today against Shakhtar, any points dropped by Juve may prove crippling in their attempt to advance to the knockout round.

Here are Tuesday's lineups:

Chelsea FC: Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, David Luiz, John Terry, Ashley Cole, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Ramires, Juan Mata, Oscar, Fernando Torres

Chelsea Subs: Ross Turnbull, Ryan Bertrand, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Oriol Romeu, Eden Hazard, Daniel Sturridge

Shakhtar Donetsk: Pyatov, Kucher, Rat, Rakitskiy, Hubschmann, Fernandinho, Willian, Alex Teixeira, Srna, Luiz Adriano, Mkhitaryan

Shakhtar Subs: Kanibolotskiy, Kryvtsov, Stepanenko, Gai, Douglas Costa, Ilsinho, Eduardo

As always, keep it friendly and don't link to illegal streams. Let's go Blues!
