Chelsea internationals had a busy day on Tuesday, as most of the senior sides were in action. We'll start our look in on them with Brazil, as they got going very early today. Brazil beat Japan 4-0, and all three of Chelsea's players took part. Oscar had a pair of assists in 89 minutes, David Luiz had an assist in 90 minutes, and Ramires had a goal disallowed in his 87 minutes of play. It looks like that trio will be healthy at the completion of the break, which is always good news.
In England action, Ashley Cole was scheduled to get his 99th cap of his career for England, while Gary Cahill was supposed to start on the bench. They didn't play though, as the Polish FA had a roof on their stadium that they decided not to close, and the game was called off due to rain.
Belgium started Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne, leaving Eden Hazard on the bench. They'd bring on Hazard at halftime, and Belgium would start to click shortly afterwards. As usual, Courtois was outstanding in the 2-0 victory. De Bruyne was very good as well, and Hazard looked much better than he did on Friday.
Fernando Torres started Spain's qualifier against France on the bench, as Vincente Del Bosque went with his striker-less formation yet again. Torres did come on with 15 minutes to play, his first action of the international break.
Branislav Ivanovic started on the bench for Serbia, and came on in the 68th minute. The Serbs would lose 1-0 to Macedonia, a result that will greatly help Belgium as they attempt to qualify. Czech goalkeeper Petr Cech kept a clean sheet for the Czech Republic in their 0-0 draw with Bulgaria.
In U21 action, Josh McEachran again went unused for the England squad in Serbia. That might be for the best though, as the English team was subject to one of the worst displays I've ever seen at the youth level on Tuesday. How UEFA deals with the racism, fans throwing projectiles, and abusive Serbian players will be interesting to see.
Tomas Kalas played 75 minutes for the Czech U21 side in a 2-2 draw with Russia, but unfortunately he was sent off after picking up a pair of bookings in the game. Oriol Romeu played 45 minutes for Spain, and came off at halftime with the Spanish leading Denmark 6-0 on aggregate.
That wraps up the international break for all of Chelsea's players at the senior, U21 and U19 levels, so it's time to again focus on club play. Next up, AVB and Tottenham on Saturday.
