Chalobah, Saville, and Phillip sign new deals with Chelsea FC

According to the official website Nathaniel Chalobah, George Saville, and Adam Phillip have all signed new contracts tying them to the club. We had the information about Saville some time ago, but Chalobah and Phillip are new reports. For Chalobah this was somewhat of a formality as it marks the youngsters first professional contract. Chalobah is someone that most of us here are familiar with and he was an unused substitute on the Chelsea bench this past Monday. His new deal will tie him to the club until the close of the 2013/2014 season.

The 20 year old Phillip was in a bit murkier water. The youngster had shown vast amounts of promise in the past, but he's suffered a series of fairly serious injuries in the past several seasons and his contract was set to expire at seasons end. The extension to his deal will see him remaining with the club until the end of next season at the minimum, so at least the coaches and medical staff will have an opportunity to evaluate him again on his return from his current injury. Congratulations to all three players, it's always nice to see the youth enjoying themselves enough to extend their time here rather than explore other options.
