As if today's disappointing result wasn't enough to elicit anger, we now have news that a section of Chelsea supporters were reported to authorities after allegedly making racist remarks about Anton Ferdinand as they were traveling back from Norfolk via train.
Chelsea Football Club is concerned to hear that a small number of fans travelling back by train from Norwich were alleged to be involved in racist chants and comment. We are working to help the relevant authorities identify those responsible and will take the strongest possible action should these allegations prove to be true. The club, like the overwhelming majority of our fans, strongly believe that all forms of discrimination are abhorrent and have absolutely no place in society.
This latest incident comes on the heels of questionable chants from the Chelsea support in November and supposed abuse from Chelsea fans toward one of our own, Daniel Sturridge, a month later. Allow me a query if you don't mind: What in the hell is going on?
These appalling - truly appalling - acts have no place around our beloved club. Not only are these sad souls feeding the media's perception of Chelsea but they also seem to be creating a vile atmosphere in and around the club. I trust these bastards will be found out sooner rather than later, and subsequently dealt with in an appropriate manner.
