The worst-kept secret of loan deals is finally out in the open: Chelsea FC have agreed to send 18-year-old midfielder Josh McEachran to Swansea on loan for the rest of the season:

We have made an agreement with Chelsea, but they have one or two injuries so we are just waiting to hear when he will be allowed to come. The important thing is we have found an agreement, which is fantastic. In my short career as a manager, I have had six players from Chelsea, I have a great relationship there and I'm sure it will go through sooner rather than later.

I understand he will still be at Chelsea this weekend, but if there is any movement it will be in the early part of next week.

Swansea play a style of football that McEachran should be perfectly suited for, and there's no reason he won't be able to get playing time at the Liberty Stadium. Josh is good enough to play in the Premier League right now, and hopefully he'll seize his chance to shine. He'll still be around for Sunderland (probably because Florent Malouda's hurt and the midfield depth is very light right now), but after that it's time for him to de-basket.

Good luck Josh!
