What's Chelsea's reward for beating Fulham 0-0 (4-3) in the third round of the Carling Cup after 120 grueling minutes of football? A trip to Goodison Park to face Everton, of course! I mean, yeah, there are lower league teams in this competition, but we wouldn't want to face those guys, would we? That'd be boring.
Anyway, Everton away is a tricky but manageable fixture. We haven't beaten the Toffees in what I think is two years now, and they knocked us out of the FA Cup last season, so it's time for some revenge. According to the BBC, the match will be held around October 24th. Interestingly, out of the five non-Premier League teams, only Aldershot Town ended up against top flight opposition - they're up against Manchester United, which means either a legendary victory or a complete thrashing. (or something in between, I guess. That's possible.) Anyway, here's the complete list of fixtures:
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester City
Cardiff vs. Burnley
Blackburn Rovers vs. Newcastle United
Arsenal vs. Bolton Wanderers
Stoke City vs. Liverpool
Aldershot vs. Manchester United
Crystal Palace vs. Southampton
Everton vs. Chelsea.
