It turns out that Gael Kakuta's spell at Bolton Wanderers won't be quite as long as initially thought - but Chelsea FC have confirmed that the French teenager will move to the Reebok Stadium on loan until January first. This should be plenty of time for Kakuta to settle in with Owen Coyle's side, and will also allow Chelsea to bring him back for cover while Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba are unavailable in January thanks to international obligations.
Coyle, naturally, has some gushing words for the youngster:
I'm delighted that Chelsea have enabled us to take Gael on loan and I'd like to thank Andre and the club for that. He is someone whose progress we have tracked since he first broke into the Chelsea first team a couple of years ago. He is skilful, quick, exciting to watch and I'm really looking forward to working with him.
I'm really looking forward to getting him some playing time. Do that, Owen, and we'll owe you one. Actually, we'll call it even after the Daniel Sturridge being all magical thing, but hey, you owe us for that. Anyway, the hope is that Kakuta gets the change he didn't get at Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage and like Sturridge he runs with it. There's a lot invested in him thanks to the whole Lens debacle, and it'd be nice to see him come good.
