It's been an interesting couple of days for Yossi Benayoun, as he's clearly been deemed surplus to the requirements at Stamford Bridge. It doesn't look like he's going to have too far to go, however, as he's according to Sky Sports News he's negotiating to stay in London to help reinforce the current mess that the sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri have created at the Emirates. If they are to be believed, Benayoun would be departing on loan as opposed to being sold.
Yossi was a bit of a disappointment in his time at Chelsea. Brought in to provide cover in the attacking midfield and on both wings, an early season injury last year limited him to just 9 appearances with the Blues. As disappointing as he's been though, I really don't understand this move if we don't sign additional cover. I also don't understand why it would only be a loan to a direct rival, as if Benayoun can't break the 25 man roster now it's unlikely that he'd do so a year from now. We'll keep you informed, but I highly doubt this report will end up being 100% accurate.
