If a tree falls in a forest, and nobody is around to hear it, does this game still matter? Answer: No. Chelsea are all but guaranteed second place - Manchester City are within three points of the Blues but have a vastly inferior goal differential that would require something very close to Armageddon to occur for it to be made up, and since that's happening today I think we're probably safe.
Anyway, there's a game tomorrow. Chelsea play Everton. We haven't beaten Everton in a very long while. Chelsea's last win against the Toffees was on May 2009 in the FA Cup final, and since then it's been three draws and a loss for the Stamford Bridge brigade. If nothing else, I'd quite like to see a win at Goodison Park just to break that little run.
Apparently the game will involve neither Ramires or Yossi Benayoun, which is good, because it probably shouldn't involve any first teamers. Let's just hand a bunch of kids their debuts - the reserve team deserves a 'real' match after winning the playoff against Blackburn earlier in the week, and the senior players could do with a bit of a rest.
Again, serious predictions of the match are probably futile so here's the lineup I want to see and then y'all can give me yours.
