Petr Cech, Ashley Cole & Josh McEachran Win Chelsea Awards

The season isn't quite over but with just one game to go now seems as good a time as any to have Player of the Year voting, and the results are in: Petr Cech (who has also just turned 29) is your Player of the Year, with Josh McEachran (who else?) winning Young Player of the Year.

The players also had their own poll, with Ashley Cole emerging the victor there. Presumably that had something to do with his good shooting this season. We also had a winner for goal of the season - Ramires' strike against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge to seal the game at 2-0. It's not what I would have gone for, but it's still a beautiful goal in its own right.

Did Petr Cech deserve his award? I'm thinking yes, due to a combination of him being excellent all season and everyone else taking a two month winter vacation. One could make an argument for John Terry as well, I suppose, but although he's had a solid enough season the injuries that hit him during November/December sure didn't help Chelsea's cause. The only other players with anything like a case are Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole, and despite what the players might think, Cole, hasn't been particularly dangerous this year.

We'll have our own awards voting here after the season is over, but what think you all?
