Chelsea 1-1 Stoke City: Post-Match Reaction

Wellllll I can't really write a proper recap on account of travelling and watching the match at an average FPS of zero (rounding down). But, in general... what an annoying game. Bullet points!

  • Stoke scored early when David Luiz and Michael Essien got embarrassed by Jonathan Walters, but it was Jose Bosingwa being out of position who made it happen.
  • Didier Drogba scored a great goal from a neato cross from Nicolas Anelka. He had to make up a lot of ground there on his defender as well as come up with a nice finish, so well done him.
  • We hit the woodwork twice, so did Stoke. Stoke's chances were better, though - Petr Cech pulled off possibly the save of the season to tip a close range Huth (I think) header onto the bar.
  • Chelsea were dominant from minute nine to minute fifty-nine. That corresponded to the double switch of Nicolas Anelka and Ramires for Fernando Torres and Salomon Kalou. After that, they looked awful. If you think this was Torres' fault, I probably hate you.
  • Really, who isn't pissed off at Carlo Ancelotti for the Ramires-Kalou switch? We were dominating and losing a midfielder for an erratic striker let Stoke dominate the centre for the rest of the match. Did John Obi Mikel kill Carlo's dog or something? Are Torres and Drogba not enough up front? Christ.
  • >:(
  • We weren't going to win the league anyway, and at least Spurs dropped two points as well.
  • Thinking about the selection, I can only conclude that Mikel is dead. RIP little buddy.
