Well, the draw's all done, and Chelsea FC will square off against Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Obviously, this isn't great news for us, but with United having major injury trouble they're not as dangerous as they could be, and it's not like the draw favours them, either. We have a very decent shot at progressing to the semi-finals after this, even if David Luiz isn't allowed to play. Manchester United were a fairly median-case draw anyway - they're the third best team left in the competition, and we had seven possible opponents. At least we avoided Barcelona and Real Madrid, who poor Tottenham Hotspur get in the next round.
There's actually very good news that goes along with the quarter-final draw: the brackets are now all set, and the winner of the Chelsea-United match's opponent in the semi-finals can only be one Inter Milan and Schalke 04. On the other half of the bracket the stage is set for Real to meet Barcelona in the semis, which is going to be an absolute cracker of a game. Here's the full draw:
Quarter Finals
Real Madrid vs. Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea FC vs. Manchester United
Barcelona vs. Shaktar Donesk
Inter Milan vs. Schalke 04
Semi Finals
Real Madrid or Tottenham Hotspur vs. Barcelona or Shaktar Donesk
Inter Milan or Schalke 04 vs. Chelsea or Manchester United
