According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma will be heading to championship side Leicester on Tuesday when the emergency loan window opens. Bruma will be joining former England manger Sven Goran Eriksson and Chelsea teammate Patrick Van Aanholt. Bruma can expect regular playing time there, which should be fantastic for his development. With the arrival of David Luiz from Benfica, playing time in the first team was likely to be very difficult to come by here.
With this loan move, Chelsea have possibly left themselves thin at the center back spot for the Champions League, as Luiz will be unavailable for the competition. When the club officially loans Bruma out, I'd expect to see some sort of emergency recall included in the deal to protect the team against further injury or suspension as the tournament continues. Regardless, the playing time can only benefit us in the long run, and hopefully the young defenders impress during their time in Leicester.
