Chelsea FC Transfer Rumours: Summer Move For Real Madrid's Pepe?

Goal.com have the scoop that reports in Spain are suggesting Chelsea are keen on signing Real Madrid's central defender Pepe. The Portugese star is out of contract in summer 2012 and despite Madrid's best efforts, they have been unable to tie him down to a new contract.

It may seem like a classic case of two buses at once to Chelsea fans however, with Brazilian David Luiz having just joined the ranks for in excess of £20M.

It is also likely that the likes of Alex, Jeffrey Bruma and Branislav Ivanovic may become slightly unsettled by such reports, given that the addition of Luiz means Chelsea are already spoilt for choice as to who partners John Terry at the heart of the team's defence.

If Pepe, who is a truly world class centre-back, does join this summer then the likelihood is that Ivanovic or Alex would definitely leave Stamford Bridge.
