Branislav Ivanovic And John Obi Mikel Injuries Not Serious

Some good news from Chelsea in the aftermath of an impressive 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane - both Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel, who were forced off injured in the first half and feared to be badly hurt (especially Mikel) appear to be much better off than we'd been anticipating. Speaking after the match, Andre Villas-Boas sounded fairly positive:

They are both muscle injuries and they will be assessed tomorrow but it doesn't seem anything serious.

One suspects that both will be out for the Fulham game on Boxing Day, but don't worry about a sustained injury crisis, from the sound of things. Villas-Boas also seemed hopeful about the prospect of getting David Luiz back for Monday, which would be incredibly helpful - despite Jose Bosingwa's incredible performance as a centre half against Spurs I don't think anyone will be too keen on him actually starting there. Paulo Ferreira and Oriol Romeu are also listed as options should an emergency pop up. Please don't let an emergency pop up.
