Would Milos Krasic be a viable addition to Chelsea FC in January?

It's almost that time of year again...

In just over a week the transfer window will re-open and clubs will be free to add players to bolster their squads ahead of the second half of the season. The January transfer window is a unique animal, as most teams are still in a position where they need their players to reach their goals for the season. Very few are legitimately available, and even fewer would be really useful to a club like Chelsea as the majority of the quality ones have become cup tied in Europe.* Milos Krasic seems to be one of the few that really fits this profile, as he's not cup tied to any competition Chelsea is involved in and he appears to be leaving in January.

*Luckily for them, the Manchester teams don't have that concern anymore...

We took a look at Krasic last summer when there were rumors of a Krasic for Alex swap. There has been renewed speculation about a Chelsea link today as the player's agent confirmed that Chelsea is still interested in the speedy wide man. Like Gary Cahill, Krasic would not likely be an everyday starter or a long term piece. He would give the club a player ready to step in immediately and provide some width on the right that we just don't have. I'd be very happy at the right price, and I don't think I'd be particularly upset if we were to revisit the Alex/Krasic swap and look at Gary Cahill as a cheap Alex replacement. He'd certainly be an adequate replacement for the departing Anelka, and he'd be a guy that would provide a very different look than what we already have. I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on the matter though, this one is definitely a real possibility in the upcoming weeks. Have at it...
