England's Brave John Terry limped out of today's public training session with what looked to have been a serious injury to his ankle. Thankfully, this appears to be a case of looking worse than it actually was.
Terry apparently suffered a tweak to his Achilles tendon when blocking a shot during the session. According to most parties who witnessed the incident, the injury looked incredibly bad at first. Terry needed to be helped off by a pair of medical personnel, including the lovely Eva Carneiro.
However, according to the club, EBJT will be ready for Spurs on Thursday.
Official statement from Chelsea:
John Terry will be fit to face Tottenham on Thursday despite limping out of Monday's open training session at Stamford Bridge. The defender pinched his Achilles while blocking a shot on the pitch towards the end of the session, and departed for treatment as a precaution, but is expected to lead the side out as normal at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.
Now, I'm not trying to undermine the club but I reckon they're throwing some killer make up over this injury somewhat. It may not be really bad, but I doubt John is not in some pain at the moment. A knock to the Achilles is no joke, whatever the severity.
Regardless of my opinion, I very much doubt we won't see Terry on the pitch on Thursday night. Let's just hope he's close to fully fit because, quite frankly, we're going to need everyone on form to do what we need to do against Tottenham.
