According to Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua, Nicolas Anelka has agreed to a deal that will see the striker move to China this January. This sounds like Important Chelsea News! but it actually isn't, because where Anelka actually ends up is of absolutely no consequence and we all know that he's leaving anyway. So hey, no big deal. Here's a quote anyway:
We have basically agreed on the details of the contract, but there are small details that we still need to confirm tonight.

Rumour has it that Anelka will sign on a three year deal, and could be on as much as £200,000 a week (£10.4M a year) to play in China. Weird as it sounds, that's probably good news - if Shanghai are so desperate to bring Nico in this January that they have to pay him more than Fernando Torres makes, there's probably room for a decent-sized transfer fee there too. Assuming we get a few million for Anelka, it's a win-win - we get money, he gets money, and Shanghai get a still rather-good player. Yay!
Also, there're some random rumours about Didier Drogba floating around. I'd ignore them, if I were you.
