Chelsea appear on the verge of adding 16 year old Dominik Dyk

According to multiple reports out of Poland*, Chelsea are on the verge of adding 16 year old shot stopper Dominik Dyk to the 2012/13 scholarship class. If true, Dyk would be arriving at Cobham in March of next year. I don't have much background information on Dyk at the moment, but I will do some digging on him in the coming days. From what I can gather though, Dyk has been quite an accomplished boxer in his youth in addition to playing well above his age group between the sticks.

Chelsea have been looking hard at a new top U18 keeper as Jamal Blackman has taken over at the Reserve level this season. With uncertainty surrounding Matej Delac and his work permit situation and Sam Walker's contract expiring soon, Chelsea have a clear need for another keeper in Cobham. They've trialed several high profile foreign born keepers in the past six months, but if reports are to be believed they've finally found their man in Dyk. It appears that other clubs who had serious interest in the young pole included Celtic, Villarreal, and Fulham. We'll keep you posted as more on this comes out, but adding talented young players is never a bad thing.

*Polish to English isn't the smoothest translation apparently...
