Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech broke his nose against Blackburn Rovers during Chelsea's 1-0 win at Ewood Park and despite playing through the pain for the Blues his participation in the Czech Republics Euro 2012 playoff matches against Montenegro is in doubt. If Cech does manage to man the sticks for his country this week... well, he'll be doing it in a Batman costume. Hey, he said it, not me:

We'll see how it turns out. If I were to start, then it would only be while wearing a mask. I already wear a headgear and I think that I would look like Batman.

I don't want to make any prognosis. Let's wait and see what the doctors say.

If Cech's only a doubt for the international matches on Friday and next Tuesday, there's not much risk of the goalkeeper missing much time with Chelsea, which is good news no matter how angry you are at him for his display against Arsenal last weekend. I sure hope he's wearing a mask when he next appears, though - now we just need to figure out what minor injury will allow him to don a cape.
