MK Dons Prodigy Bound For Liverpool, Not Chelsea

Although it had been reported a few weeks ago (including on this blog, although I don't think we count) that MK Dons teenager Seyi Ojo had moved to Chelsea on a multi-million pound deal, it turns out that that didn't actually happen. Instead, Ojo, 14 is bound for Liverpool:

This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Seyi and his parents which has proved far too difficult to turn down .There has been a lot of interest and speculation regarding Seyi which he has coped with admirably. We are extremely proud to have Seyi in our record books as our first schoolboy to receive an international cap. Everyone at the club would like to wish Seyi the best of luck in his future and we all look forward to the day he runs out at Anfield.

The cost is £2M, which as I mentioned the first time this story got floated around is a ridiculous amount of money for someone at least four or five years from having any chance of an impact at the top level. It looks as though the original story that about Chelsea's bid was leaked just to force Liverpool into offering more money, a motive I'm entirely in favour of.
