QPR Make Racism Complaint Against John Terry; FA To Investigate

The FA has confirmed that Queens Park Rangers have made an official complaint about the John Terry-Anton Ferdinand racism spat and that they'll be investigating the issue. There's been a lot of talk from Chelsea and Terry that everything was cool and that Ferdinand had been mollified, but the fact that QPR have referred the case to the authorities implies otherwise.

Anyhow, here's the FA statement:

The FA can confirm it has received a complaint relating to an alleged incident of racist abuse in the QPR versus Chelsea fixture at Loftus Road on 23 October 2011.

The FA will now begin to make enquiries into this matter.

The FA takes seriously any allegations of discrimination and abuse of this type.

No further comment will be issued at this time.

This is all pretty disappointing, and hopefully the investigation will demonstrate that Terry is in fact innocent, but if it doesn't I will be pretty deeply distressed about Terry's behaviour. Chelsea, for their part, are insisting that the alleged incident was a simple misunderstanding. I really hope that they're correct.
