Things look to have finally been confirmed to make way for Fernando Torres to leave Liverpool and join Chelsea. The BBC have broke the news that Liverpool and Newcastle have agreed a fee for Andy Carroll, while John Cross has reported that Fernando Torres has passed a Chelsea medical.
It has been an incredible day in English football, but it now looks certain that Roman Abramovich will land the Spanish hit man he looks set to invest around £100M in to bring to Stamford Bridge.
While some may turn their noses up at the cost of Torres, remember: this is a 26 year old who is without a doubt one of the top five strikers in the world when he's on form. When he's at his best, he could very well be the best in the world. Quick, agile, strong and absolutely deadly in front of goal, Torres has suffered from injuries and a bad run of form.
Having scored 24 league goals followed by 14 and 18 in his first full three seasons at Anfield, Fernando Torres is a game changer who is going to massively change, and hopefully improve Chelsea as the club looks to retain the Premiership Title and win that elusive Champion's League.
