Forget Fernando Torres and David Luiz: Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has today hinted that the club may not pick up any new players in this transfer window.
In what would be a very surprising outcome, Dan Leven has the scoop that the Italian has insisted that he is happy with the tools he already has at his disposal. Ancelotti is cool on speculation as to who Chelsea will splash the cash on, pointing out that he won the double with a similar group of players last season.
After all of the near misses and massive media hype, it would be a pretty shocking outcome that may leave Chelsea supporters disappointed. There is a clear case for additional cover at centre-half in the form of David Luiz or even Gary Cahill. And with Daniel Sturridge apparently being shipped out on loan to Bolton Wanderers, many Chelsea supporters are by now salivating at prospect of one of Liverpool's crown jewels, Fernando Torres, making Stamford Bridge his home.
It would certainly be underwhelming if Chelsea have less players at their disposal than they entered January with by 11PM in England tonight. At least Carlo Ancelotti, for one, seems happy about that possibility.
