As Graham MacAree pointed out earlier today, the BBC have already said that a £50M offer would net Chelsea Fernando Torres, possibly involving a part exchange including Nicolas Anelka.
The very reputable Sky Sports have now confirmed that Liverpool are willing to let Torres go for £50M. But with Nicolas Anelka apparently vetoing any move to Liverpool, it looks like it will have to be £50M in cold hard cash.
As the transfer deadline looms, the clock ticks. Will £50M be more than Roman Abramovich is willing to pay? Can Liverpool be persuaded to accept a lower bid?
Things are heating up as we near the final day of the transfer window. The cards are now on the table, but will the deal get done?
