It looks as though Liverpool have no interest in Daniel Sturridge being part of the Chelsea/Liverpool deal involving Fernando Torres and would rather a more established player come in as a makeweight.
Several sources are reporting that Daniel Sturridge will probably be leaving the Club before the transfer deadline - but on loan, and it is Bolton Wanderers and Owen Coyle who are leading the charge to secure the young English striker on a deal until the end of the season.
This would appear to indicate that the likelihood of Nicolas Anelka being included in a part exchange deal between Chelsea and Liverpool is now more likely. It has been well documented that while Chelsea were more keen on using Sturridge as part of the mega money deal to secure Fernando Torres, Liverpool want Nicolas Anelka to join new striker Luis Suarez at Anfield in addition to around £40M - £45M.
How significant is Sturridge's placement on the loan list? I guess we'll have to wait and see. But it certainly doesn't look like he will now be heading to Liverpool whatever happens.
