Loan Deals: Kakuta to Fulham, Van Aanholt to Leicester

Well, we're still waiting to get the confirmation on the arrival of David Luiz, but two of our youngsters have been on the move in search of some consistent first-team football.

After yesterday's rumors that Gael Kakuta was down the visiting our neighbors down the road for a nice lunchtime medical, Chelsea have confirmed today that our French youngster has completed a loan move with Fulham until the end of the season.

Former Blue Mark Hughes had been making rumblings in the press about wanting to capture Kakuta on loan, saying "He is a player I know and I like the qualities he has."

There are high hopes for Kakuta at Chelsea, but he hasn't made the breakthrough into the first team yet apart from a few sub appearances throughout the season and four starts. Here's hoping that at Fulham he'll get the experience he needs and we'll see those flashes of brilliance that make him so gifted as an attacking player.

Also, during yesterday's reserve match, mention was made of Dutch left-back Patrick Van Aanholt being out on loan; today Chelsea confirmed that he is at Leicester with Sven Goran-Erikkson (well!) for the rest of the season.

Van Aanholt has become one of my favorite youngsters to break into the first team this year. He has looked extremely promising whenever he has started at left-back, and he showed he even has a bit of goalscoring prowess as he scored against Newcastle in the Carling Cup.
