Several weeks ago, Gael Kakuta extended his contract with Chelsea through the 2015 season. At that point we began to hear rumors that he, along with several other promising youngsters, would be heading out on loan during the January window. Today rumors have begun to surface that he's not going to travel very far from Stamford Bridge, as French and English media outlets are reporting that he's likely headed to Fulham by the end of this week.
This move will likely give Kakuta some much needed first team experience, as Fulham have been awful scoring goals (23 thus far this season as a team). There were rumors of interest from most of the top teams in France, but it will be very nice to see Kakuta stay in the Premier League and have his chance to cut his teeth against the best league in the world. Here's hoping Kakuta has a nice extended run in the first team and manages to help Fulham improve it's dreadful scoring record. There really aren't many better situations from the club's perspective than Fulham for Kakuta's continued development.
