Champions League Community Preview

The Champions League draw is going to be held in a little over 24 hours, but I don't think that the group stages will really worry Chelsea overmuch. Despite a (relatively) poor performance in Europe last season, Chelsea's record is still strong enough to see them handily in Pot A, meaning that we'll avoid Inter Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and Lyon. It also means that we'll be squaring off against one and only one of Werder Bremen, Real Madrid, Roma, Shaktar Donesk, Benfica, Valencia, Marseille, and Zenit St. Petersburg or Panathinaikos. Obviously, the big name to avoid in that group is Real, but with a 7/8 chance of drawing a fairly mild opponent, things look pretty rosy.

Anyway, I wanted to get all y'all's opinion on how well we're going to do in Europe this year without biasing the polls too much with a preview of my own. What does everyone think?
