Chelsea Draw Copenhagen in the Second Round of the Champions League

It's a return to Milan for Gareth Bale and Tottenham - AC their opponents in this round.

Chelsea FC will face FC Copenhagen in the first knockout stage of their year's Champions League. By winning Group F, the Blues had ensured that they'd face a team from the pool of group runners-up, but there were still pitfalls to be navigated - Milans AC and Inter being the most obvious. Fate was kinder to Chelsea this year than last, which saw them draw eventual winners Inter Milan, who were 2-1 victors at the San Siro before beating the Londoners 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, breaking a long string of Champions League semifinal appearances for the Blues

By drawing FC Copenhagen who are arguably the weakest team still in contention, Chelsea find themselves in prime position to move on to the quarter finals. Other English sides may not be so lucky - Tottenham Hotspur, having stunned Inter as surprise winners of Group A, had the misfortune of being matched up with in-form AC Milan, while Arsenal find themselves drawn once more with Barcelona, arguably the best team in the world. Manchester United drew Marseille, runners up behind Chelsea in Group F. Outside of the Premier League teams, the most interesting match is Inter vs. Bayern Munich in a repeat of last year's final.

The full Champions League draw is after the jump.
