John Terry missed the 3-0 defeat against Sunderland with an injury problem, but what we didn't know is that it's apparently a chronic condition that has recently gotten a lot worse rather than the back injury that was reported.
Check it out:
"I have been struggling with a nerve pain coming from the top of my leg down to my hamstring and to the outside of my calf. It started towards the end of last season but with Chelsea being in the mix until the day of the FA Cup final, I didn’t have the chance to rest or pull out of games. It has been manageable up until the last two weeks but when we played Fulham I stretched to win the ball against Clint Dempsey and it got a lot worse."

I don't know what to make of this. As far as I can tell, none of the other major outlets are reporting that Terry could be out for an extended period of time, but there are a lot of presumably non-made-up quotes here. Here's another from that article:
"I know I won’t play on Saturday against Birmingham City, but beyond that there are no clues. It could be weeks, it could be months." [Daily Mail]
It could be months. Anybody feel like trying to paint this as not-terrible news?
