MotM Poll: Chelsea 2-0 Wolverhampton

Back. Like he never left.

Job done.

I'm not sure there's a more appropriate phrase for what we just witnessed. Solid. Unspectacular. Understated. Average? Insert of the previous into a match report, and you're on the right track in describing today's 2-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

These are the games that truly win championships, however. Less than your best, yet still bag the lot of points. Well done to the boys, regardless of, for the most part, a lackluster performance.

Both goals were the result of superb moves, the first in particularly a highlight for me. Yuri Zhirkov carried over his form from midweek; an excellent display of football acumen from the Russian. The defense, too - Bosingwa slotting into the back line seamlessly - was a source of great satisfaction.

Away to Blackburn next, then to Anfield. On to the next one.
