Yossi Benayoun's torn Achilles tendon will be keeping him out of action for the better part of the season - worse, in other words, than all of those broken legs we've been hearing about lately. He's due in for surgery on Monday, and then we won't be hearing from him until right at the end of the season at best. Remember when Joe Cole was injured all the time? Maybe this is just a Chelsea creativish midfielder curse.
Alex and Salomon Kalou are both still out but are set to resume full training after the Aston Villa match, which does us not much good at all for the Aston Villa match. Meanwhile Jeffrey Bruma apparently had a minor hamstring issue on international duty, bringing our tally of centrebacks who haven't experienced an injury concern in the past two weeks down to the whopping total of one. That's assuming Branislav Ivanovic hasn't been set on fire by a flare or something.
No news on John Terry or Jose Bosingwa, but it would be really handy if they were fit.
