On this fine 4th of July, The Sun is pulling out all the sensational stops. This time, the quintessential outlet for integrity and honest reporting reckons Ashley Cole has snubbed a new, improved contract at Chelsea. And, who else, but Real Madrid are lurking in the shadows, staring at the best left-back in the world with one of those real perverted gazes you girlfriend usually gets outside a club.

Just a day earlier, the Times reported Cole was on the verge of signing a four-year deal at £120,000 per week. He'll put pen to paper, they say, sometime next week. Now this, this I believe.
