Silva to Chelsea??? Not really.

Valencia winger David Silva is coming to the Bridge. Well, so says Wikipedia. Really, Wikipedia??? Yesterday, according to the web's only interactive encyclopedia, Silva has signed a pre-contract with Chelsea.

"On January 8 David Silva signed a precontract in Valencia with scout Pini Zahavi that transfers him to Chelsea FC London in the summer of 2008. The deal is believed to be worth 30 million euros. Silva signed an 5 year contract with the west Londoners." -Wikipedia

If true, this would certainly be a move in the right direction for manager Avram Grant, and his "beautiful" football. The 21-year-old clearly provides width, pace, and more knowledge of the game than Joey "Boy" Cole and SWP ever will. Plus, who can forget the youngster's blistering strike against us in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals? If you have -- tisk, tisk -- check below.

Still, the most pressing issue is why news like this would appear on Wiki. I think we can agree that it's unclear -- and shady. But hey, its viable right? The Belletti transfer news broke on Wikipedia did it not? So, maybe there is hope after all.

Of course, to absolutely no one's surprise, the portion highlighting Silva's apparent transfer has been removed from his bio on Wikipedia. You try to report some breaking news and what do you get, nothing.
