About this time last week I was bemoaning the 0-0 draw against Blackburn and how so WRONG WRONG WRONG the assistant Referee Peter Kirkup was in disallowing a perfectly good goal from Salomon Kalou for offside.
My how a week can change. Tuesday, Chelsea was all over Norway's Rosenborg in the Champions League but only drew 1-1 and 24 hours later, The Special One, Jose Mourinho left Chelsea by 'mutual consent.'
Tomorrow Sunday, the Premiership runners-up and FA Cup winners visit the Champions, with Avram Grant in charge. I have had to crop the picture above left to remove any image of the 'Special One,' and never ever did I think before this season kicked off that Jose wouldn't last the season.
I renewed my season ticket on the basis that Jose would be in charge, never thinking or believing that Jose would be gone before the end of September. But as I get told more often than not I support the club and not the manager... there must be something in that statement as I have SUPPORTED Chelsea (through the good times and BAD times) SINCE 1966 - to me this is a BAD time!!!!
So it is. Jose has gone and another coach is in charge and on Sunday Chelsea play the Champions and today our NEW coach is respecting a Jewish public holiday!!!!!! Oh Happy days LOL!!! After the last two games and before Jose left the club I said to mates that if Man Utd score first....they will win. Now I am looking for the Ranieri effect.
Remember Ranieri the coach who was sacked by the 'rich boy,' who then appointed Mourinho who then went on to win TWO Premiership titles, TWO League Cups, ONE FA Cup and ONE Community Shield and got Chelsea to Champions League semi-finals and Premiership runners-up last season, despite a horrific injury list!!!
Ranieri who joined Chelsea and didn't speak one word of English took Chelsea to Old Trafford in 2000 and drew 3-3 despite being 3-1 down at half-time. Grant can speak English and OT/Man Utd is his first game in charge - so can we expect a win???
I will leave the answers up to you!!!
