Lets get the decaying news out of the way first. In a last minute transfer before the 'window' closed, Lassana Di....ar......ra left Chelsea for the new ski, (Chelski is old hat now) so let's welcome Arseski. Diarra was a firm fans favourite and with no disrespect to the lad he has gone on and increased Wenger's French foreign legion so weclome Frenchnal and Arseski - No it won't kick off - there will only be one ski and thats Chelski, but there will only be one Frenchnal!!!
In today's Carling Cup 3rd Round draw, the present holders have to travel to Hull City. Now the last time that these two teams met was in a FA Cup tie way way back in 1999 when Vialli was manager and Gus Poyet scored a hat-trick in Chelsea's 6-1 win.
On to Sunday's game at Villa Park. I like Villa Park. Villa Park is one of those grounds where once the home end (Holte End) gets singing like VILLA, VILLA, VILLA... its one of those moments where the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and the roar of the Holte deserves better in terms of success that they have been getting recently.
I have been to Villa Park on many occasions. I have seen Chelsea win, lose and draw and I have been involved in trouble way back in the 'hooligan' days of English football.
Having said that I am sorry that I won't be there tomorrow as I wasn't quick enough to get a ticket as it seems that Villa Park is a 'quick sell-out' for Chelsea fans when the fixture is announced for early in the season.
It might have to do with alot that Birmingham can be a great night out on a Saturday!!!
We know that Super Frank is out - for at least six weeks - as for the rest of the team news Sheva could be on the bench and Belletti is likely to start his first game in Chelsea blue.
For the record the game kicks off at 4pm UK time.
KTBFFH!!
