Dismal England!!!!

jtfl-004.jpg

So England failed dismally in Israel on Saturday and really were you surprised? McClaren is not an International manager, to be fair he just about became a manager at 'Boro... England NO!!!

What I don't like is that the press and media seemed to be 'popping' their clogs at our Super Frank. Alright he had a bad time at the World Cup and he was the first to admit it. It is being said that if Frank can do it for Chelsea, why can't he do it for England? But you can say the same about Wayne Rooney. How long was it since he scored his last International goal? 2004 against Croatia.

Anyway apart from England's inept performance, I thought Frank was unlucky. Three chances - one past the post and two saved by the Israeli 'keeper.

Normally there is a Chelsea reserve game this evening, but because of the small amount of teams in the reserves League the team is not scheduled to play again until 11th April in a game away to Watford. So to compensate for the lack of match action, the reserves are flying out to Dallas on Friday (30/3/07) for a mini-tournament.

So we had first-teamers in action representing their various countries over the weekend as well as Michael Woods and Nana representing England U17's, but there was a Chelsea team in action on Saturday morning who were an extremely strong Academy side that swept away Milton Keynes Dons 3-0 at Cobham.

Carl Magnay the 2nd Football Icon winner, scored his second goal for Chelsea along with Lee Sawyer who scored his first goal and the first goal of the game and the third goal was scored by reserve team Captain Sam Hutchinson, (who is seriously on the make to become the next John Terry!!!)

Now maybe alot of you do not know who these players are - trust me I enjoy watching the reserves and catching up on the news about the Academy team - after all, these players belong to Chelsea FC just as much as the first-teamers and Jose that have brought us a whole heap of joy over the last few years and beyond that with Ranieri, Vialli, Gullit, etc etc right down to Eddie McCreadie, John Neal, Bobby Campbell, Tommy Docherty, Dave Sexton......
