Chelsea announced the signing of St. Etienne defender Kurt Zouma on loan just before Jose Mourinho's press conference, so that was the first topic the manager dealt with today. I can't imagine Mourinho's that interested in our newest acquisition at this point -- he won't get to play him until preseason -- but he gushed about his profile and potential anyway.
He also said that there won't be any more inbound this transfer window. Granted, he said that after both the Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah signings and that obviously proved false, but with the deadline ten-odd hours away it's probably a good idea to take him at his word at this point -- the first team squad will not be getting further reinforcements today.
That doesn't mean we won't see deals for youngsters who are nowhere close to turning out at the senior level, mind, but the big transfers are all wrapped up.
