Chelsea have announced that they've reached an agreement with Basel over Mohamed Salah, a player that is already providing some very mixed reactions from the fanbase. For starters, he's in the unenviable position of being acquired at the same time that a fan favorite is reportedly leaving the club. Being 'the guy that replaced Juan Mata' probably isn't much more fun than being David Moyes.
Salah is also a wide forward by trade, and that fact has many Chelsea fans upset that we aren't simply promoting from within. Impressive talents such as Lucas Piazon, Thorgan Hazard, Victor Moses, and Bertrand Traore all had a difficult task before the Salah signing, made that much more difficult by yet another talented young player.
When you start to consider the mess created with his handshake situation earlier in the year, the makings of a very divisive signing are clear for all to see. We'd like to know your opinion on the move, and have provided you with a poll with which to tell us just that.
The WAGNH staff would appreciate it if we tried to keep politics out of the comments section, as we try to keep this blog to football as much as possible. If you're against this signing due to the incident in Champions League qualifying, feel free to vote but let's not discuss the reasoning here. On the flip side, if you just don't care about the incident in Israel, let's leave that information out of the comments section as well.
