Although it seems like half the teams in Belgium are trying to pick up Thorgan Hazard on loan this summer (as well they should, he was great for Zulte Weregem last season), it's hardly a foregone conclusion that Eden's younger brother remains in the Jupiler League next season. In fact, he's probably better off going elsewhere -- although it's not a bad division there are plenty of more challenging venues.
Does that include the Championship? Probably. And apparently, a Championship side is interested. Although this is indirect at best, the Northern Echo have a throwaway line at the bottom of an unrelated piece that says that Boro have been 'credited with an interest' in Thorgan, which is at least reasonably noteworthy. Middlesbrough treated Josh McEachran fairly well in his loan spell last year and play pretty decent football, and I think Thorgan might be Tony Mowbray's sort of player.
With Thorgan in such high demand, Chelsea can afford to wait a couple of weeks before sending him somewhere, but it might be a decent idea to get him out of Belgium now. He's already showed he's too good for the domestic league. Why not take him out of his comfort zone a bit?
