You know how there was supposed to be some sort of meeting to sort out the future of Edinson Cavani this week? Yeah, not so much. But then there's always the backup option, if one is conjuring up imaginary meetings, of postponing them for a later date (this is an option for real meetings too, if you're busy), and that's apparently what's happening with the Grand Chelsea Cavani Summit -- according to Tutto Napoli, at least.
They're claiming that rather than a Wednesday or Thursday meeting this week, Cavani's agent will instead be in London early next. Remember that salary negotiations will play a major role in determining whether or not Chelsea can afford to pay Cavani's buyout clause, because wages matter in real football land. It's clear that the club is seriously after the Uruguay international, but there have been no real indications that they're going to be able to beat out Manchester City or Real Madrid for his signature.
Wish there was more to say, but we'll all just have to sit still and hold on tight. Are we having fun yet?
