Chelsea have been linked to HSV's Heung-min Son quite a bit recently, and earlier today we saw some reports from Germany that he was waiting to extend his Hamburg deal. He's reportedly wanting to see where they finished up and in what direction the club was heading before commiting to the club, and a little more money probably wouldn't make him too upset either.
if Son doesn't extend, it would seem very likely that HSV will be forced to sell the player this summer, rather than risk losing him for basically nothing when his contract expires the following June. With that in mind, I'm going to put together a couple of posts for you to get a feel for what type of player Son is.
Today's post won't be too in depth, but I wanted to at least make sure we dug up a few decent videos of Son in action. The first one we have for you is back in August of 2010, when the South Korean was just an 18-year old. This was just a friendly, but he put the ball in the back of the net against an opponent you were all probably familiar with:
Shortly after doing the unthinkable and putting one past Ross Turnbull, Son and HSV took on 1860 Munchen:
Up next, we'll take a look at three videos of Son against Bayern Munich last pre-season. Don't be thrown off by the clock, as the game was only 60 minutes in length:
Here is Son several weeks ago against a very good Borussia Dortmund side:
Finally, here's a look at all nine Bundesliga goals that Son has scored this season:
We'll break Son down in depth at a later time, but at least this should give you the opportunity to see a little bit of the player in action. Catching a few HSV games wouldn't be a bad idea anyway, as Jeffrey Bruma, Michael Mancienne, Jacopo Sala, and Slobodan Rajkovic are all with the club at the moment. Oh yeah, did I mention that they are very much in the hunt for a Champions League place next season? There's that as well, so make sure to check them out if you can.
