Frank Lampard understandably stole the headlines with his visit and half-time speech on Saturday, but he wasn’t the only former Blue to make an appearance at the Bridge this past weekend. Demba Ba stopped by for a chat as well, and as we can see from the video above, that included a lovely joyful hug from his “brother” Eden Hazard, too. The bromance is alive and well!

Demba, currently back at Besiktas on loan from Shanghai Shenhua, continues to make his return and recovery from a horrific leg break suffered last July while playing in the Chinese Super League. He recently spent a few weeks in the USA, where he’s also an investor for a new soccer franchise, working with rehab experts at UCLA and the University of Nebraska to help him get ready for the second half of the Super Lig season as Besiktas look to defend their title from last season.
Confirmed, @HuskersNAPL is a WORLD-class facility.

Demba Ba may have only played about 50 games for Chelsea, but his goals tended to be memorable, both for their awkward or acrobatic nature and for how important they often were — never more true than the winning goal against PSG in the Champions League quarterfinals in 2014.
Plus, he’s just such a lovely man. Good to see him back on his feet and hopefully back soon on the football pitch.
