Chelsea wonderkid Charly Musonda had a great start to his professional career on loan at La Liga side Real Betis starting in January, racking up dribbling stats, clowning opponents on both wings, and helping the team stay away from the relegation zone. Musonda wasn't nearly as impressive later in the season as in his initial showings, but he continued to aid in his team's cause.
Beyond the success on the pitch, Musonda has been enjoying his time at the club, surrounded by family and new friends. Both the club and the player have expressed a desire to continue this arrangement into next season, and it sounds like we're getting closer to making that official.

There had been some stray rumors of Chelsea potentially using a Musonda loan as makeweight in some deal with AS Roma, while the likes of BVB have also apparently expressed interest. But as outspoken Chelsea scout Piet de Visser claimed the other day, it looks like 19-year-old will remain at Real Betis on loan for the next twelve months.
This is probably the best course of action. Then next summer, with 18 months of professional football under his belt, we can worry about integrating him into the Chelsea team.
