John Terry is currently recovering from whatever latest injury is affecting him, and while there’s no official timetable yet for his return, he’s been back in full training for a few days now.
Of course, even when fully fit, JT isn’t likely to play too much with the current back three of Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz, and Gary Cahill working so wonderfully well, and Kurt Zouma back from ACL injury, too, and needing minutes eventually. But maybe if we’re looking for a backup striker, the Captain could do the job? With Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s strange journey into striker-dom about to end in a loan (most likely), perhaps Terry can deputize and go two-up with Michy Batshuayi in the FA Cup?
Here is JT presenting his credentials.
In case Marco van Basten isn’t your all-time favorite non-Chelsea player and you don’t have his eponymous goal etched into memory, here he is scoring the original “Van Basten”.
