I came across an article on the otherwise horrendous bleacherreport.com about the spending habits of the Blues during 2014, and the numbers are beautiful. According to the following tweet from @_ChelseaTalk , Chelsea has spent exactly the same amount as we've sold.
Mata (37.1) Luiz (*50) De Bruyne (16) Total: £103.1M Matić (21) Salah (11) Zouma (12.5) Fàbregas (26.6) Costa (*32) Total: £103.1M *TBA— Chelsea Talk (@_ChelseaTalk) June 13, 2014
We've let depart one player who was quite a bit-part man, one who was tired of either playing out of position or not playing at all, and one who's best matches were out of position. In return, we tackled three serious problem areas and added two forward players, one being a proven EPL excellence and the most promising Egyptian of all time.
You can ridicule the purchase of Fábregas, you can question the man that is Diego Costa and whether or not he'll be tamed, but by my account, that is some damn fine business put forward by the CFC front office.
