This post was brought about by some thoughts about Chelsea's youth academy and Chelsea's disinterest with promoting them to the first team. I completely understand that Chelsea's competitive aims will mean that most of the youth will not make it to the first team. In my opinion though, there has to be at least one who can see some time for Chelsea right now. That does not mean they need to be an every day starter but give them the odd match or so and allow them to get used to life as a Chelsea first team player. If they don't cut it, they can always be sold. So here is my question to the WAGNH realm out there. Today, who is Chelsea's best youth prospect? Is it Nathaniel Chalobah? Is it Ruben Loftus-Cheek? Is it Tomas Kalas? Is it Andreas Christensen? I personally have no idea so I would love to here your opinion. Imagine this player is going to be called up to the first team and see 15-20 appearances in the season. Take your pick and explain why you think they deserve the chance.
