Big Phil Scolari may have lasted only 36 games at Chelsea in 2008-09 but it's nice to know that he doesn't let that bad experience affect his selections.
Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed nine players who will make Brazil's squad for the World Cup at home. They are David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires, Willian, Paulinho, Julio Cesar, Thiago Silva, Fred and Neymar.
Scolari said at a local event that he talked to some of the players on a recent trip to Europe to assure they had his support and were guaranteed making the World Cup.

In fact - as evidenced especially by Willian - it looks like Chelsea is a boon to any Brazilian's potential World Cup hopes. That should bode well for our jogo bonito future, even if none of our current Brazilians are your stereotypical, showboating, defense-averse type of players.
Joining Willian then will be Oscar, Ramires, and David Luiz. The latter might even be in line for the captaincy.
[Scolari] said four were up for captain: Silva, Luiz, Cesar and Fred. Silva was the captain in recent friendlies.

Thiago Silva was also the captain for last summer's Confederations Cup so I'd assume his role won't change. But even if it did, as someone who believes that David Luiz would make an amazing Chelsea captain, Brazil would be in great hands regardless.
